Wednesday, May 3rd 2000: Death From Above (Pay per View) Card #1 - Match #2 Psycho Psychic vs. Grim Reaper Authour: Alexander Michael Quinn (LD) [President] Match: Hell in the Cell. Rules: None. Weapons allowed. Title: None. Announcers: James Colburn, Iaian McBride. _____________________________________________________________________ Colburn: What a match this is going to be tonight! We have a Hell in the Cell match coming right up! McBride: Yeah, but no ordinary Hell in the Cell match, this one is going to be much better! Colburn: I can't wait to see what will happen. They are placing the large steel cage over the ring as we speak, only a bolted steel gate permits anyone in or out of the cage. McBride: I always preferred steel to the ropes. Colburn: Yeah, who doesn't? (laughs) (The audience is cheering as the clicking sound of the cage against the ring is heard.) McBride: Alright, we're all set, I'm hedging my bets on Psycho Psychic, did you see that staff with the ram's head? That totally kicks! Colburn: Yeah, but with the sharp blade of Reaper's scythe? Psycho Psychic stands no chance. McBride: Well, they are both over seven feet tall at any rate, making this match twice as violent. ("13 Steps to Nowhere" begins and the whole arena goes to darkness. Red lights are centered on the ring where mist and smoke begin to pour from seemingly nowhere. Psycho Psychic emerges with his bright eyes glaring from the darkness, and the lights come back on.) Colburn: I have a feeling that they are ready to start...but how'd he get through the cage? McBride: I honestly don't know, and I question if this is going to be a normal match at all! ("So Long" begins to play and the lights dim. Fire lights up the pathway to the ramp and the Grim Reaper rises slowly from the entrance. His demeanor seems cold and silent as he glides down to the cage. The cage door is opened for him by the referee and he walks up the steps into the center of the ring. Suddenly, a flash of light ensues the arena and the Grim Reaper is ready to fight, with the scythe remaining in his hands.) Colburn: Alright! Let's get started! (The Viewscreen flickers on and we can see Gothic standing by the entrance to the Main Office with search parties in the background.) Gothic: (Dark) The President is...inconvenienced for now, so I will be announcing this one for him. McBride: (offhand) Boy, he sure looks happy. Colburn: (sarcastically) Yeah, doesn't he always? Gothic: This is between Psycho Psychic and the Grim Reaper in a weapons Hell in the Cell match. I hope that the loser dies quickly, hopefully with at least enough pain to remind him of his mistakes. (The viewscreen flickers off) McBride: Dude, no one is going to die! Colburn: No, but...he's probably hoping for a slip-up. McBride: Yeah, no doubt. (The bell rings and instantly the Grim Reaper swings his scythe into the stomach of his opponent, only to be blocked by Psycho Psychic's steel ram-head. Sparks fly and the two back off ready to fight in a closer style.) McBride: Wow, that was a great start! Colburn: Yeah, but what's next? This is great! Look at that, the Grim Reaper roundhoused Psycho Psychic in the head, sending him into the cage. What a sound when that cage rattles! (Psycho Psychic recovers from the blow and turns around to retaliate. Grim Reaper takes another swing, but Psycho Psychic manages to dodge just barely and get Grim Reaper from the side.) McBride: Look at that! That was a signature move from Psycho Psychic right from the start! Colburn: Yes, I haven't had time to do a full review, but I believe that was the Hell Raiser. A Gorilla Press, but right into the cage. That sound just invigorates me! (The cage stops rattling and the Grim Reaper rolls away, scythe still managed to stay in hand. Psycho Psychic brings his staff down upon the Grim Reaper, but the sharpness of the sickle brings no contest on wood, and the staff splinters and breaks.) McBride: Uh oh, that's really gonna piss off Psycho Psychic! (Psycho Psychic sees the destruction of his Ram staff and howls in extreme anger. The Grim Reaper is a bit taken aback by this reaction, and Psycho Psychic comes down on the Grim Reaper with an elbow right into the groin. The Grim Reaper tries to get off but Psycho Psychic grabs his legs and drags him towards the center. The Grim Reaper won't stand for this however, and swings his scythe across the muscles of Psycho Psychic's forearms. Psycho Psychic lets go and the Grim Reaper jumps up with no hands and headbutts Psycho Psychic back against the cage. The Grim Reaper then swings his scythe once more, but Psycho Psychic dares to catch it with one hand, causing blood to flow freely from his left hand, but he twists the sickle off of the scythe and throws it at the Grim Reaper. The Grim Reaper takes it in the leg and winces in pain, digging it out and throwing it across to the opposite side of the ring.) Colburn: Did you see that?! Blood everywhere tonight! McBride: I saw it, but I'm still not believing it! Colburn: Psycho Psychic lunges for the Grim Reaper and begins to unwail on him continuously. I'm pretty sure that many blows to the head will leave the Reaper scrambled for awhile. McBride: Or maybe not! The Grim Reaper is retaliating with amazing stamina! (The Grim Reaper decides to go all out apparently. First he punches Psycho Psychic in the heart with his middle finger, then left hooks him in the throat and uppercuts him to send him reeling back.) Colburn: Wow, I'm not sure, but I think that was Soul Reaver! McBride: He doesn't look done, he's...oh sh*t, how? He's running and jumping off of the cage, and with Psycho Psychic with him, pulls a Brainbuster in the air? Oh my God! He's really been practicing! Colburn: That was a variation of the Gates of Hell, I'm sure of it. Is he going all out on his opponent? McBride: Ow, he just put Psycho Psychic up and mashed his face into the cage with a fall. Colburn: That definitely was some sort of Judgment, but doing these moves will definitely leave him tired. McBride: Yeah, well what about the receiving end? He looks like he's ready to pass out! Colburn: I know what's coming next. (Grim Reaper does a kick to the gut, a punch to the face, a knee to the kidney, a jab to the sternum, and spinning elbow to the back of the head. Psycho Psychic goes down, but rolls out of the way before the Reaper can finish his Finisher.) McBride: What's this? Colburn: Hold on, I'm getting something from the search parties outside. Apparently, they cannot find the body of the Limousine Driver, meaning that he might be alive, but they don't know. The entire search has been done as much as possible, it sounds like they are calling it off until the morning with better light. (Meanwhile, a raging fight between the two tired titans rage on in the background. Grim Reaper and Psycho Psychic begin to fight with the wooden part of both their weapons, leading into a staff fight, however Psycho Psychic has much more experience with a staff and seems to be toying with the Grim Reaper.) McBride: Ow! Psycho Psychic has brought it across the Reaper's head, sending his face into the cage! With both of them in this condition, it should end soon. Colburn: Will you look at that? Even with all the blood and beatings he took, Psycho Psychic is still goingstrong against his opponent, even if he is worn out. Who knows what is to come? (The Grim Reaper tries to kick Psycho Psychic in the knee, but he bends down low and parries by grabbing the Reaper's leg. Psycho Psychic drags him out and literally holds the Grim Reaper up by his leg, swings him up and brings him down in a sort of fast flying backbreaker against Psycho Psychic's knee.) McBride: What a crunch! I swear I heard it from here. It looks like Psycho Psychic has him in a powerbomb. Wait, now he has him in another! What is this? Colburn: It's the Graveyard Slam my inexperienced friend! McBride: Well that was definitely enough to put him down. (Psycho Psychic finishes and then puts the Reaper into a pin. A two-count is heard, but the Reaper manages to break out and knee Psycho Psychic in the balls. The Reaper then runs at Psycho Psychic but doesn't expect the fast recovery of Psycho Psychic, ending up in a three-finger choke slam sending the Grim Reaper back down to the ground. Psycho Psychic does the Graveyard Slam yet again, literally now pummeling the beaten Reaper until he can no longer stand and puts him in a pin.) Colburn: Here it is! 1...2...3! That's it! That was the pin! McBride: Is every match going to be this bloody? Colburn: Nah, I'm sure they'll get much more interesting. Still no word yet on the disappearance of the Limousine Driver, but we're still having some great matches here at the HDW!
