Wednesday, May 3rd 2000: Death From Above (Pay per View) Card #1 - Match #1 Limousine Driver vs. Unknown Authour: Alexander Michael Quinn (LD) [President] Match: Roofmatch. Rules: None. Weapons allowed. Fall off the roof to lose. Title: None. Announcers: James Colburn, Iaian McBride. ________________________________________________________________ Colburn: To start off an explosive night, Metallica has joined us to play the opening of our Pay Per View with the intro to one of their hit songs! McBride: Yes, we were lucky to have such a revered Metal band to be playing with us tonight, hopefully the action will be as exciting as the music! Colburn: It's time to get underway for the opening day of the Havoc Dominion! (The music continues until it dies down, the audience won't stop cheering. The Havoc Viewscreen is playing random HDW animations and showing a detailed listing of each wrestler.) Colburn: Alright, as I understand it, it's a rainy evening, and the midnight match has been scheduled to be first. As far as I know, the Pay per View for tonight will go from Midnight well into the morning light, ending with a large party in the office auditoriums which I'm sure all Wrestlers will be attending. McBride: As I understand it, James, the first match will not actually take place in the ring? Colburn: That's right Iaian, we've got the match taking place on the roof of the Havoc Dominion Main Office, a 38 Storey building with one hell of a view. Apparently the safeties are in place, however they will not be able to stop anything if the wrestler falls off the roof rather than submitting. McBride: I only know that there will be an electric net set up around the perimeter and weapons are allowed! I can't believe that this first match is going to be so bloody! Colburn: It's gonna be one hell of a show, and it will all take place on the Havoc Viewscreen. Our viewscreen is the size of four football fields and has three dimensional surround sound for the benefit of the audience! Those at home will be able to see it from their own set live. Oh wait, I'm getting something now... The wrestlers are on top of the roof and are ready to start! The Viewscreen should be coming on any minute. (The Havoc Viewscreen flickers on and we can see the moon in the sky flickering across the inch deep water on the roof. Shadows make it difficult to see much, however it seems that the area has been set up with a net which flickers blue every second.) (The Metallica & Symphony "Sad But True" begins to play over the Viewscreen and we can see a large white man walking towards the camera. He seems to be wearing all white robes and a plastic mask with no facial features, except blood covers his entire outfit.) McBride: Now that's the man that's been causing trouble for the Limousine Driver lately, right? Colburn: Yeah, I don't know who this man thinks he is causing trouble for us over at the Havoc Dominion, so let's hope the Limousine Driver teaches him to run; fast. McBride: Who the hell is this guy? Mystery Jobber of the month? He's gonna get whooped! Colburn: Well, I wouldn't be too sure of that, this is a weapons match after all, and we all know that the Limousine Driver hasn't had enough practice with extended range. McBride: Right, he isn't experienced like DAND or Apocalypse. Colburn: No, and I'm sure we'll see the difference when they each have their separate matches tonight. ("Running out of Time" begins to play over the speakers, and we see the Limousine Driver walking down the water on the opposite side of the netting towards Unknown. A helicopter overhead appears, but is too far up to really hear at all over the speaker. The halogen spotlight flickers and swings overhead, going from side to side of the netting. It seems as if they are both ready to begin and are practicing what they know will be a difficult fight.) McBride: Do we have an announcer up there? Colburn: I don't know how this is going to work, but it sure looks like it's gonna be fast and furious when it begins! (The Spotlight flickers on and off three times in succession) McBride: That must be the bell! And it looks like they are ready to begin. The Limousine Driver looks a little hesitant, but seems to be in an offensive stance. (The Limousine Driver suddenly charges Unknown. The Man in White just stands there and allows the Limousine Driver to charge him). Colburn: Holy sh*t, is this out of desperation or is there a plan to this? Ow! The unknown guy took a step back and put the Limousine Driver into a piledriver! Wait a minute, he remains in the final position, what's going on up there?! (Camera changes and we see the Unknown pushing the Limousine Driver's mouth below the inch deep water, LD seems to be struggling to breathe. Suddenly, Limousine Driver gets an arm free to grab a hidden knife from his belt buckle, sticking it into the knee of the Man in White.) Colburn: Iaian, that's right it's a weapons match! It's hard to tell the blood of his costume from the new blood soaking into his robes. The Man in White looks like he's staggering and has left the Limousine Driver to get some air! McBride: This is insane, I knew as well it was a weapons match, but drawing blood so soon! Now that we have first blood in our first match, it could get dangerous. (The Man in White staggers and stands up. The Limousine Driver comes around quickly and delivers a roundhouse punch to Unknown's face, putting several cracks in the plastic mask. LD then swings back his other arm to deliver a blow, but Unknown catches his arm and swings him into the netting!) McBride: Oh my God! (LD is struggling to escape from the netting, leaving burns into his outfit and burning his tuxedo. Crisscross scars line his face in burning pain!) Colburn: This just went totally nuts! (The Limousine Driver pulls a long steel sword from his hilt [Katana for you picky experts] and comes at the Man in White in a turnaround swing, hilt facing down. The Man in White is quick to retaliate in holding up his robes and tangling the sword. The Man in White grabs the sword with his bare hands and pulls it from LD's weak grip.) McBride: Sh*t! The Limousine Driver is just too tired from the electricity to be parried now! It looks like the Man in White has the sword by the hilt, but they are getting into the shadows, now this is going to be difficult to see. (Periodically we see the spotlight flash over the two. They seem to be grappled and the Limousine Driver is trying to wrestle the sword back into his grip.) Colburn: Wait, so far we've only seen our President bring weapons, what about the other guy? McBride: The other guy is probably too confident. Do you see the way that guy in the white is handling this match? His moves are smooth and he's constantly in control. The Limousine Driver is going to have to calm down as well, if he wants to stand a chance! Colburn: Well, Iaian, let's just hope that this experience will teach him to handle himself better when he's fighting his opponent. Otherwise, there will be a lot of losses on his side. McBride: They're out of the darkness now! The unknown guy has just pulled a stomach cruncher on the Limousine Driver, leaving him to roll out into the light. The Limousine Driver seems to have a lot of blood on him, but how much of it is his, and how much of it is the other guy's? (The Man in White brings LD's own katana down towards the Limousine Driver's head, stopped only by the small dagger from LD's belt. The Limousine Driver rolls back and stands up ready to do more battle. The water is tainted a dark red, and both wrestlers are soaked in it, Unknown having only light red robes now.) Colburn: What's going on now? They've backed away from eachother, each looking the worse for wear. The Man in White just threw the Katana to the Limousine Driver, and then took out what seems to be his own sword. Iaian, you know this stuff, what is it? McBride: Well, I can't really tell because of the poor lighting, but it looks like standard one-handed longsword. Possibly British, but that's difficult to tell from here. Colburn: Wait, this is supposed to be a wrestling match, they can't do this! (They both come at eachother, clashing swords. The Limousine Driver drives his knee into the stomach of Unknown, leaving him to wrench back.) McBride: Who the Hell is going to stop them? I guess now the idea of submission is out of order, they both look really pissed off! Colburn: Well, even if LD says he's out of practice, he looks like he's doing a good job at keeping Unknown at bay, and he's no slouch either! (The Limousine Driver switches to hilt down and comes up to hit the Unknown in the face. His Katana slips through the Man in White's defences, hitting the mask and breaking off the lower half. The lower half can't be seen too well, but it looks horribly scarred. This ends up stalling the Limousine Driver with shock, giving the Unknown guy enough time to bring the sword against his own and sweep LD's legs. On the fall down, Unknown grabs LD by the head and does a Spinning Neckbreaker standing still). Colburn: Now that's more my style! McBride: Yeah, but that will leave Mr. Quinn dazed long enough to end his career for good. Colburn: No, wait, the Limousine Driver has managed to roll away, into the only area of the arena not covered by the electrical net; the guardrail to the roof! McBride: Unknown is chasing him, but is slowed down too much by the increase in water, bringing it up to his knees. Have the drains been clogged for the match? Colburn: They must have, and that will definitely have an effect on the fight. McBride: Is his wife Alena watching this? Colburn: Who do you think has the light on them from the helicopter? (The scene changes back to the two wrestlers. The Limousine Driver is breathing hard, trying to regain his footing in all the water; it looks like he's choking on his own blood. Unknown comes running at him, swiftly and only to be accompanied by splashing without a charging scream. The Limousine Driver bends down quickly to dodge and uplift the Unknown, smashing him against the guardrail and uprooting the guardrail so that it becomes unsteady. Unknown quickly gets up to retaliate; blade for blade.) McBride: I can't believe what's going on! There goes the guardrail as it has been bent enough to snap off on it's own. We've got to stop this madness before we lose a wrestler! Colburn: What are you worried about? This is the only way to win. No rules and the first one to fall loses! (Over the Viewscreen, the moon is trapped by the clouds and the only light is coming from the flickering spotlight hanging from the helicopter in the air. Unknown comes flying at the Limousine Driver, blade first, and drives his shoulder into the chest of the Limousine Driver. The Limousine Driver rolls near the edge, but regains his footing before going over. Unknown brings his blade down, but LD recovers in time to stop it and drive his feet over the shoulders of the Man in White, twisting and putting Unknown to the ground in a choke hold. Unfortunately, Unknown quickly breaks out, knocking the Limousine Driver back quite a ways.) McBride: This is really starting to get interesting, but when you have tired wrestlers with weapons in the ring, it can only mean it is about to end. Colburn: They are back to thrust and parry with their swords, trying to wear the other one down as they seem to be equal in their training and experience. (Unknown clashes one final time against the Limousine Driver's sword, knocking it out of his hands and over the roof. Limousine Driver looks nervous to get too close, but tries to punch Unknown in the face, knocking off the rest of the mask. This proves only to horrify the Limousine Driver even more, even though it is too dark for us to see Unknown's face. Unknown brings his sword forward into the Limousine Driver's shoulder, the blade going entirely through the Limousine Driver.) Colburn: Oh my God. (Unknown brings the sharp blade down, throwing the Limousine Driver over the edge of the building.) McBride: The match ended...but it ended in an entirely different from the expected way. Colburn: It looks like they are flying the helicopter down the side of the building to the ground to find the Limousine Driver's body. McBride: Was that supposed to happen? Colburn: Maybe not this way, but someone was going over, whether it was the Limousine Driver or the unknown guy was up to Fate. McBride: Looks like the President was a little late on his rental payments for borrowed time. Colburn: Well, the safeties were up at the bottom, we do have a camera to switch to the helicopter's view. And there it goes! (The camera switches to the helicopter view, but we can't see Alena. The helicopter searchlight hits the area, but no body is to be found.) McBride: What the Hell?! Colburn: I don't know, but they are going to keep looking until they find him. Meanwhile, we have other wrestlers in the back, waiting to get to eachother. We can only hope to hear some good news during the next match when that occurs. McBride: I hope we don't have to have a funeral instead of a party tonight. We have a Hell in the Cell match coming up, with the same rules as this match, hopefully it will be just as exciting!
