  • Combat Techniques

Knit Bone: The character does not suffer penalties from the first point of Red Damage to any area.

Will the Flesh: Extensive hard training has given your character +1 PFb.

Strength of the Earth: Whenever your character uses unarmed attacks on an artificial object, he may spend 1 ki to do critical damage (but it only affects the object and no occupants, like if inside armour).

Simultaneous Strike: You may spend 1 ki to use an Action for a simultaneous strike. This may only be done once per round.

Return Parry: You may now use Parry to try and succeed at Return Defense.

Dominance: This is used as a Return Defense. You take no damage from their attack and they must make a Stun check (-20%). If they fail, they are knocked to the ground and stunned.

Knockback: When you do red damage to an opponent, they fly twice as far when resolving knockback rules.

Defiance: When hit with a melee weapon, your character may hold that weapon in the wound. You take a jab from that weapon during the struggle. Both combatants make a Strength check (you have +5) to resolve this action. If your opponent fails the Strength roll, you have successfully disarmed him. This may be used to hold onto someone instead of disarming them.

Lion's Growl: Your character lets out a mighty roar or scream. You have +20% to Fear and all opponents with a lower Strength must Resist Primal Nature or have -10 to their next initiative.

Multiple Parry: Your character can parry multiple attacks against him with a single action which lasts until you take your next Turn. This is a Multiple Defense based on parry.

    Ki Focus Techniques

    Brute Category

Iron Palm: The character unleashes a devestating blow by focusing first. The attack being done takes 3 additional ticks and by spending 1 Ki, the character adds +3 penetration to his unarmed attack.

Stab: Adding penetration or damage to attacks using Ki can be done an additional time.

Berserker: The character becomes focused by rage, unleashing a disturbing amount of precision in his attacks. The character takes an action to become enraged, each Ki spent gives +2 to all combat rolls for this round and the next. This may not be used again in the same scene/combat.

Stun Impact: When the character hits the victim, the victim will shake when badly wounded. For 1 Ki spent by the user, the victim has another -30% to Resist Stun against an attack doing Red damage.

Master - Shatter: The character can direct the force of his blow to the pinpoint of a needle. The strike is indeed so penetrating that by spending 1 Ki, the character can turn a critical strike into a successful shatter.

Master - Critical Focus: Using this is an action taking 2 ticks and must be done on your Turn. The character goes into what may seem like a trance. By spending 1 Ki, the character's Critical is lowered by 1 until he successfully takes Red Damage, however all of his actions take an additional tick (without doing additional damage). This is cumulative up to three times.

    Body Category

One Mind, One Body: For each Ki spent, the character has +20% to Resist Coma/Death, Resist Poison, and +2 to Strength or Stamina for stat checks and Quick Information. This is cumulative for one roll.

Gritting Teeth: The character increases his threshhold of pain, increasing his shock value by 1 for each Ki spent against an attack. This can only be done twice per attack.

Even Pain: For 2 Ki, the character can prevent Red Damage caused by penetration.

Total Flex: The character builds his body to be hard and capable of withstanding hits when he is prepared. When the character flexes this discipline (spend 1 Ki), the character's PFb is further increased by 2. This can only be done once each time PFb is regenerated (or activated).

Master - Second Wind: The body expends ki and the character focuses on ignoring the pain and finding a way to move his body in such a way that nothing is aggravated, allowing him to get a second wind. The character can expend 1 Ki per round to activate hitpoint regeneration in combat. The character regenerates his shock value in hitpoints at the end of each combat round. This lasts until the end of combat. While this is active, the character cuts Blood Loss in half and his Red damage penalties are also cut in half.

Master - Glancing Blow: The character learns how to instinctively take a hit without using tumble. By spending 4 Ki in response to an attack, the attack cannot do more than 1 point of Red damage. If the attack does only 1 Red damage, it is prevented.
